THE 2013 PATERSON POETRY PRIZE was awarded to Richard Blanco, for Looking for The Gulf Motel (University of Pittsburgh Press, Pittsburgh, PA).  He writes of seemingly ordinary events, yet deeper meanings lie in his depictions of the quotidian. Although the specific details in his poems are taken from his own life, the emotions he evokes are universal. It is impossible to forget Blanco’s poetry. His writing is lyrical and beautiful in its clarity.

Poetry writing workshops will be offered with Joseph Millar or Aaron Smith at 10 AM. Fee $15. Pre-registration required.
