A well-known Italian-American poet, Founder/Executive Director of the Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College and Editor of the Paterson Literary Review, she has published 20 books and with her daughter, Jennifer, she is co-editor of four anthologies. Maria is a courageous, risk-taking poet, who does not hesitate to bare her soul and inspire others to achieve their goal.

The award will be given at this year’s Annual Dinner Dance to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Avenue, East Hanover. Tickets are $90.00 per person and may be obtained in advance by calling Pasquale Meola, President, at (973)489-7002 or by calling Susan LaMorte, Ticket Chairman at (201)618-2903.

The Federation of Italian-American Societies of New Jersey was founded in 1933 to assist and improve the quality of life of the Italians who came to America from Europe to become a lasting part of American Society. This yearly event is an invitation to the community to join with the membership to celebrate the spring season in a festive atmosphere of friendship and cordiality.
