The Poetry Center at PCCC presents a poetry reading by Marge Piercy and Patricia Smith on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1 pm at the historic Hamilton Club Building, 32 Church St., Paterson, NJ.

Marge Piercy is the author of many books of poetry including, most recently,
The Hunger Moon: New & Selected Poems and
Made in Detroit. Piercy has produced 17 novels, a short story collection, essays and a memoir,
Sleeping with Cats. Her work has been translated into 19 languages and she has given readings, workshops or lectures at over 450 venues here and abroad. Her website is

Patricia Smith is the author of six books of poetry, including:
Blood Dazzler, a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award and one of NPR’s Top 5 Books of 2008, and
Shoulda Been Jimi Savannah, winner of the 2013 Lenore Marshall Prize from the Academy of American Poets, the 2014 Bobbitt National Prize from the Library of Congress, and finalist for the William Carlos Williams Award from the Poetry Society of America.
There will be
writing workshops with Piercy and Smith from 10 am to 12 pm prior to their readings. Pre-registration and a fee are required.
