In Italy With Maria Mazziotti Gillan

Maria Mazziotti Gillan is currently leading writing workshops in Italy as part of a two-week seminar.  The seminar is part of the University of Calabria’s Italian Diaspora Studies program.

Morano Calabro

The first week was held in Morano Calabro, in the National Park of Mount Pollino. Morano Calabro (Moranese: Murenu [muˈrɛːnu]) is a town and comune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of southern Italy.




The second week will be one-on-one conferencing with writers in Albidona on the Ionian Coast of Calabria, at the border with Lucania, with several planned field trips in the surrounding areas.



Maria Mazziotti Gillan's most recent books are the poetry and photography collection, Paterson Light and Shadow  and the poetry collection, What Blooms in Winter .
