Such a powerful, moving poem. Though I've read this poem many times and heard you read it before, it never fails to move me. This poem embodies the dedication and love parents have for their children, and the difficult work and world immigrants willingly take on in order to make a life for their families and give them dreams to live by. In retrospect, we can often see the depth of intention living inside the every day acts of giving our parents extended to us, and the difficulties they went through to be able to give us the life we had as children. Thank you for your words, and for continuing to share your story.
