Summer Travels

Night in Morano, Italy
As we approach the unofficial end of American summer, we note that the summer of 2019 was a busy one for the poet and painter Maria Mazziotti Gillan.

She traveled to Italy to conduct two weeks of writing seminars. The seminars, promoted by the Italian Diaspora Studies association, in collaboration with the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Calabria and with the United States Consulate in Naples.

Maria hopes to return to Italy in 2020 for another series of writing workshops.

Maria also traveled west into the American midwest for two poetry readings in Detroit. She read at the All Access Café and then as part of the outdoor St. Clair Shores Literary Walk by the Lake.

You can expect new poems and paintings to come from this summer's travels.
