Rattapallax Magazine #36 will launch at the Bowery Poetry Club on Wednesday, April 28 at 6pm EDT. The online launch will feature writers and poets published in a special issue focused on Parkinson’s Disease. Maria Gilan will be one of those poets reading for the event.
Poetry, essays, and short stories about Parkinson’s Disease and living with or taking care of someone with Parkinson’s Disease were edited by Hal Sirowitz, Minter Krotzer, and Susan Brennan.
This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers through public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council. Parkinson’s Poetry website and magazine is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
Maria Mazziotti Gillan's new poetry collection is When the Stars Were Still Visible (2021). Other recent publications are the poetry and photography collection, Paterson Light and Shadow and the poetry collections What Blooms in Winter and The Girls in the Chartreuse Jackets which pairs her poems with her paintings.
