CFP - FYI
The Journal of American Studies of Turkey (JAST) has put out a Call for Papers (CFP) for a Special Issue on Italian American Material Culture which will be guest-edited by Elisabetta Marino (University of Rome). Marino will be contributing an article on maria Mazziotti Gillan and has asked that the CFP be distributed here for others to consider contributing articles.
The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2022.
This themed issue of JAST aims at exploring the role of material culture in Italian American literature, film, and popular culture. JAST seeks original, previously unpublished manuscripts that examine Italian American material culture from all possible perspectives. Topics may include but are not limited to: Objects and decorations connected with celebrations; Devotional pictures, statues, scapulars, holy cards; Italian objects and stereotypes; Italian food vs. American food; Women as objects in patriarchal contexts.
